--- Comment #12 from Cy Schubert <cy@FreeBSD.org> ---
My new TP-LINK AC1200 just arrived today. Testing hostapd with it I get:

slippy# ifconfig wlan1
wlan1: flags=3D8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 15=
00
        options=3D200001<RXCSUM,RXCSUM_IPV6>
        ether 18:a6:f7:17:26:2e
        inet6 fe80::1aa6:f7ff:fe17:262e%wlan1 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x6
        groups: wlan
        ssid Lotus_Pond channel 40 (5200 MHz 11a ht/40-) bssid
18:a6:f7:17:26:2e
        regdomain FCC country US authmode OPEN privacy OFF txpower 17
        mcastrate 6 mgmtrate 6 scanvalid 60 ampdulimit 64k ampdudensity 16
        shortgi -stbc -uapsd wme dtimperiod 1 -dfs
        parent interface: rtwn0
        media: IEEE 802.11 Wireless Ethernet autoselect mode 11na <hostap>
        status: running
        nd6 options=3D23<PERFORMNUD,ACCEPT_RTADV,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>
slippy#=20

Indeed hostapd does work at 5.2 GHz. Could be an ath(4) problem?

I'll continue to monitor but maybe bz or adrian can verify with the ath(4)
driver?
