Any chance that we can get "Find as you Type" either disabled or fixed in subsequent releases of Mozilla. Find as you type isn't essential to the operation of Mozilla, but in several cases it can cause the browser to stall for several minutes when entering url's in the title bar or when composing email and is becoming quite annoying for myself and for the people that I regularly service. Reproduction of the problem: Install the www/mozilla port and the audio/grip port open mozilla and type something into the url bar mozilla will freeze for n minutes ( depending on the speed of your cpu ) mozilla will then behave as normal Problem reproducible on other machines: Yes Problem severity: Minimal ( but annoying ) Workaround If you go into Mozilla preferences, under Advanced : Keyboard Navigation and disable Find As You Type, then you'll avoid the several minutes of hang the first time you try and type into a text field or the location bar. Suggested solution: Install feature disabled until solution is fixed, then re-enable if necessary
