Yes, I have some ambitions in this area :).  I'd hoped to resolve this
faster, but things haven't quite worked out that way so far.  To do a
source code based JDK 1.2.2 port you need to do something similar to the
WordPerfect port where you require people to download the source code
and patches manually (thus complying with the SCSL) and then have the
build commence from there.

Its the compliance with the SCSL I'm trying to nail down 100% at the moment
since there is no way I want to be submitting a port for inclusion in
FreeBSD that potentially leaves them open to any legal ramifications.

A binary port is an entirely different kettle of fish since it involves
getting permission from Sun, etc.
