The XFCE power manager can also blank the display or put it to sleep/stdby/=

You should check under Settings - Power Manager.

First off I'd try disabling the functionality.

I am unable to tell if your system is not detecting the keyboard/mouse inpu=
t,
or it is detecting it and is unable to wake up the display, both options are
possible.

If you are able to switch to VTY with crtl-alt-f1 I'd say the second option=
 is
the most probable.
