Try this instead: Copy the script or executable to a PEFS directory, making sure it has execute permissions. Reboot. *Then* try executing it, without looking at the script or otherwise doing something that might get it into cache. It should then fail. I assume that my kernel and my source are in sync, since I copied the tarballs all at the same time. In theory, I could have got *very* unlucky and downloaded them at the wrong instant.
