Yes. I can still log in via the network and kill and restart inetd.

Just found another syslog message (I didn't see it before because
it disappeared in all the loge messages):

Jul 23 15:20:51 <daemon.err> printfix inetd[5323]: chargen/udp server failing (looping), service terminated
