When I tested on my smp box back in January-February, I had an smp 
kernel, but without activating smp, I was able to get a 30 percent gain 
by going to -j 8.  When I actiavted smp, I was able to get an additional 
30 percent gain on top of that.

I won't be reporting any updated specs until after May 19 (finals).
