I updated my sources to RELENG_4 and built and installed a new kernel last night. I thought I would try my Archos USB/PCMCIA CD-R because I was told that there was now support for ATAPI over USB since 4.4 release. It seems to work "more" than it did before the new kernel. /var/log/messages: Dec 27 06:03:17 neo /kernel: umass0: In-System Design USB Storage Adapter, rev 1.10/1.00, addr 2 Dec 27 06:03:20 neo /kernel: umass0: Phase Error, residue = 0 Dec 27 06:03:31 neo last message repeated 4 times Dec 27 06:10:09 neo /kernel: umass0: at uhub0 port 1 (addr 2) disconnected Dec 27 06:10:09 neo /kernel: umass0: detached my kernel config: dlt@neo$ diff GENERIC NEO 18c18 < # $FreeBSD: src/sys/i386/conf/GENERIC,v 1.246.2.37 2001/12/19 18:34:45 iedowse Exp $ --- > # $FreeBSD: src/sys/i386/conf/GENERIC,v 1.246.2.34 2001/08/12 13:13:46 joerg Exp $ 25c25 < ident GENERIC --- > ident NEO 27a28,29 > options USER_LDT #allow user-level control of i386 ldt > 150c152,153 < device apm0 at nexus? disable flags 0x20 # Advanced Power Management --- > #device apm0 at nexus? disable flags 0x20 # Advanced Power Management > device apm0 at nexus? flags 0x20 # Advanced Power Management 251a255,259 > > # Sound support > device pcm > > pseudo-device speaker Any thoughts? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Denver Timothy <dlt@dltimothy.net> \|/ "Your mouse has moved, @ @ please restart Windows for the changes to take effect." -oOO-(_)-OOo-------------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
