Is anyone looking at supporting RAID 5 in FreeBSD (w/o a
hardware RAID controller)? The ccd driver's RAID 0 doesn't
provide all the desired functionality.

The reason I bring this up now is that I was poking around
the NetBSD web pages tonight and I noticed that they've
had it in their -CURRENT for over a month, using the CMU
RAIDframe code. (Yes, it's only a month.)

How hard would it be for someone to port it to FreeBSD? (It
is integrated at the vnode layer; I'm not familiar with the
differences we have there, but we do use a similar vnode
driver and ccd driver).

Is someone already working on this? Or maybe someone will
volunteer now?
