I'm seeing an increase in the number of answers that "top post". That is, the answer is placed above the text of the question. Like wrapping the text of a message, this seems like a good idea at first glance, and might actually be a local improvement. But the result of global adoption of such practices is to make reading - and replying - to email harder. To quote Greg Lehey's "How to get best results from FreeBSD-questions" <URL: http://www.lemis.com/questions.html#answer >: 9. Put your response in the correct place (after the text to which it replies). It's very difficult to read a thread of responses where each reply comes before the text to which it replies. So, would everyone please stop top posting? Thanx, <mike -- Mike Meyer <mwm@mired.org> http://www.mired.org/home/mwm/ Independent WWW/Perforce/FreeBSD/Unix consultant, email for more information.
