There was a message recently on some newsgroup I read that some
obscure (probably extinct now) vendor's cat(1) command would
output (on stderr I hope!) "Meow" if nothing could be read from
stdin (and stdin is a terminal I hope!) for a period of
time....Maybe an urban legend, but interesting.
