I have a second hard drive in my FreeBSD box, running release 4.1.1. I have added the drive to /etc/fstab with the following line: /dev/ad3s1 /server_root msdos rw 1 1 I have also tried 0 0, and 2 2 for the Dump and Pass#. I'll admit I have no real basis for this, other than the fact that the other partitions used 2 2, except root.. The partition mounts fine, I can read and write from root, but I absolutely cannot change the file permissions or own of any of the files. I have tried chmod from root, repeated, and get nothing. Is is not possible to change the permissions of a drive that is FAT/FAT32? To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
