>Description:
The machine deadlocks so that
- Trying to log in from console allows me to type "root", but after
pressing return the tty locks up
- Network and NFS still work
- Any network connections lock up as soon as they do *any*
filesystem (?) I/O.
Possible correction/clarification to this one: It seems that new processes
cannot be started, but file system I/O is possible. Existing processes
work.
I really miss a "Panic" button here, by any chance could it be implemented
somehow (adding code to pcvt to make some little-used key to panic and
dump, for example).
- This happened today three times in row
- I has happened before, but not this frequently
It has happened...
- There is nothing special on console
- It apparently happens on very loaded systems only
This evening it has happended twice. I replaced Intel plato motherboard
with ASUS to see if that has any effect.
