to follow up my own post with - perhaps - more info: using FreeBSD 4.3, april 2001 CDs. upon reinstall, with the bootup I see the sis0 interface in the boot messages that display and roll by quickly. I see the ethernet interface address (mac address) but when I do an ifconfig -a, i do not see the sis0 listed.
