Errm, not quite. You can specify to disable it there, from XF86Config(5):
Example: the extmod module (which contains a miscellaneous
group of server extensions) can be loaded, with the
XFree86-DGA extension disabled by using the following
entry:
SubSection "extmod"
Option "omit XFree86-DGA"
EndSubSection
But note that if you auto-generate a config file (e.g. XF86 -config), this
seems to be the default. I've always had to specifically enable it on
XFree86-4, IIRC.

That would be interesting, also 'xdpyinfo' will have:
XFree86-DGA
etc. in the output if DGA is enabled - or just run the 'dga' test program
which will complain if it's not present, again IIRC :)
