:I was just asked this question by my boss, so can someone tell me :what are the advantages of elf kernels as opposed to aout kernels? : :thanxs ... God, I'm going to sound like one of those IBM web server commercials. (long pause) Better compatibility with and portability to/from linux. Of course, there are lots of reasons for going with ELF - ELF has a much more consistent shared library scheme, for one. But describing them in terms that a non-computer-geek would understand is like walkinging off a cliff blindfolded. -Matt :-- :So ya want ta here da roots? :Dem that feels it knows it ... :bush doctor <dervish@bantu.cl.msu.edu> Matthew Dillon Engineering, HiWay Technologies, Inc. & BEST Internet Communications & God knows what else. <dillon@backplane.com> (Please include original email in any response) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
