As you can imagine, I didn't bother trying it on FreeBSD. I don't know whether it's changed, but when I went to the Hercules site's forums they were full of posts from users who couldn't get their Kyro II cards to work and tech support replies that changes to multiple BIOS settings were needed. I tried all the tips, but there are so many potential combinations of settings.... After a week of fruitless attempts, I gave up and returned it in exchange for a GeForce2 MX400 64MB AGP, which has worked without a hitch for me in both Windows and FreeBSD.
