That explains why grep didn't find it.  :-)

It should be updated in either case, as we've used "PRERELEASE" for
4.4, 4.5, and (now) 4.6.  As far as "consistently" goes, I'd say we've 
got a much better chance of doing that, thanks largely to Murray 
writing down most of the steps in the process.  I'll deal with this.
