 As of Friday, February 23rd, 2007 this is still a problem in 6.2-RELEASE 
 (for i386).  You can reproduce the problem by booting off of a CD-ROM as 
 well.  The suggestion to FTP into a specified IP Address over a fully 
 qualified domain name seems to work.  The above referenced bug 
 (kern/76890) is now closed, therefore an unlikely cause of this current 
 problem.
