Have you tried looking at the handbook on www.freebsd.org?
Im sure there are plenty of newbie and novice questions answered
in there. Try the irc channel on EFnet (#FreeBSD) for more questions.
Oh, and to configure the IP addresses, take a look at /etc/rc.conf .
