The following reply was made to PR kern/122572; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Mel <mel.xyzzy@rachie.is-a-geek.net> To: bug-followup@freebsd.org Cc: felipe@neuwald.biz Subject: Re: kern/122572: [install] FreeBSD 7.0 doesn't install on Dell PowerEdge SC1435 Date: Thu, 8 May 2008 20:01:24 +0200 Same problem here. 6.3/amd64 is now downloading, will try to get a verbose boot. This post suggests it's in the acpi. http://anothersysadmin.wordpress.com/2007/11/15/problems-with-sata-disks-and-dell-pe-sc1435-how-to-fix/ If anyone's working on this, please let me know, what information you want from 6.3, since writing to disk doesn't work for 7.0. If necessary, I can upgrade in place to 7.x, but if the driver isn't working, then hmm. I haven't looked at the disk config and such yet, but maybe I can get a dual boot going to test any patches. -- Mel
