I use FreBSD and Exchange 5.5 at work. Exchange serves office network users. FreeBSD (I use sendmail as MTA ) serves dial-up and x.25 users. Of course FreeBSD/sendmail is better MTA than Exchange. But Exchange has services for address book replication. FreeBSD is the greatest OS for corporate network, but it is a few dificulty to administrate. FreeBSD/sendmail is more stable than Exchange. My FreeBSD boxes run many months without rebooting. I reboot NT/Exchange boxes every day. Also I should every day check MTA queue with MTACHECK utility. Some day ago Internet Mail Service on Exchange box crushed Information Store. I just has deleted IMS Connector and then reinstall it. With FreeBSD I don't have any troubles. I affraid to forget my FreeBSD mail configuration because I have installed my FreeBSD boxes one year ago and I didn't make any serious changes.

  Subject: E-Mail Server Question

  Hello Group.

2 day old newbie here. Quick question on mail servers. I come from a Windows
Server background. "I Apologize" and have used exchange for many years and
love it. Are there any programs that come with FreeBSD when you install it
that compare with Exchange Server 5.5?

  Thanks,
