# SMTP initial login message (old $e macro)
#O SmtpGreetingMessage=$j Sendmail $v/$Z; $b
O SmtpGreetingMessage=$j Mail Server.
Ready on $b.
Do not spam this site or use it as a relay without explicit
permission!
The above is in your /etc/sendmail.cf file. Simply remark out the initial
default greeting and put whatever you wish there :)
Restart sendmail so it picks up the change.
Hope this is what you were looking for!
