Hi list, I've got a little bit of experience with freeBSD on amd64 and am giving it a go on my powerBook (which formerly had Fedora Linux installed on it, although I do still have an OS X disc if I need to diskutil in that). I'm reading online that I should be able to boot into 8.1 install disc, start a shell, and use gpart. However, when I boot 8.1-ppc, I go to Fixit > Start Shell from CD/DVD.... I am told to insert the Live BSD disc. What is this live BSD disc if not what I just booted from? Here is the image I downloaded: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/powerpc/ISO-IMAGES/8.1/FreeBSD-8.1-RELEASE-powerpc-disc1.iso There is a boot-only image there...but I figured this would have fewer features rather than more so haven't tried it yet. Also a disc2 and disc3, each of which are only 1.2mb in size. Any tips? -- klaatu -- --- uzu linukso. subtenu libera programaro. kotizu al http://www.thebadapples.info/ogg.xml http://www.fedorareloaded.com
