I'm experimenting with smtp auth. Is there an unix MUA, which will do smtp auth? sendmail is "smtp auth-enabled": Script started on Sat Jan 13 23:21:35 2001 gina~ # telnet localhost 25 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. 220 gina.neland.dk ESMTP Sendmail 8.11.1/8.11.1; Sat, 13 Jan 2001 23:21:43 +0100 (CET) ehlo localhost 250-gina.neland.dk Hello localhost [127.0.0.1], pleased to meet you 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES 250-8BITMIME 250-SIZE 250-DSN 250-ONEX 250-ETRN 250-XUSR 250-AUTH PLAIN LOGIN DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 250 HELP quit I've tried with Outlook express and checked "Smtp host requires authentication", but no auth is being done.
