Isn't doing something like this to -stable a BAD THING? meaning,
making AAC_COMPAT_LINUX not do what it used to?

People shipping things with canned configs or whatever get screwed
by this, or people defining it some other way than via config.

The work is of course appreciated, but perhaps having _both_ work
for 4.x would have been more prudent.

I don't object to this change, I'm just upset by it.
