Hi,
back in June, I tried to boot an Enterprise 4500 server from the
June snapshot and got nothing but a panic. I was able to boot it
with the 20021031 snapshot but that was as far as I got because the
SCSI controllers are not supported (see logfile). Too bad, the box
had an 48 Gig RAID5 attached and would have been one hell of a
package builder. Especially as all four CPUs had been launched.
Is there any SBUS SCSI card for a E4500 that is supported by FreeBSD?
Otherwise, I will have to look into netbooting it, just for the fun
of it.
In the meantime, I have manged to install 20021031-SNAP on a mere
Netra t 1125 (the 19" Netra server version of the Ultra 60). No
problems during install (the auto default of having just 39 Megs
of swap on 17G disk is a little small), SMP seems to work as well.
The box is currently running its first buildworld.
