Subject: Suggestions for compatible server ?

Hi List,

I'm looking to purchase a Dual Xeon with Raid support and I'm thinking
either IBM, Compaq/HP. My problem is none of these vendors will
guarantee that FreeBSD will be compatible with their systems and they
are not prepared to give me a demo machine to test. So I am basically
relying on hopefully some good solid advice on a system that will work
"out of the box" with FreeBSD.

I'm going to be using this as a mail server and proxy serving
approximately 1000+ people so specs needn't be too great. If anyone
could give me some good leads on this issue I'd be grateful. I mentioned
IBM because we already have a good relationship with them as we have a
couple of RS6000's running Informix. If someone uses any of their new
i386 systems with FreeBSD I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks for your input.

Kind Regards,
Nelis
