Step 0: make sure that your ports collection is up to date (you may need to use cvsup) Step 1: pkgdb -F Step 2: portsdb -Ufu Step 3: cd /usr/ports/java/jdk14 && make install clean native jdk on freebsd is stable (1.4.2). been using it to run tomcat and jboss on a medium-traffic website. the sun-linux jdk is somewhat unstable. i hope this helps. --- buttmanizer --- babaloo munchies <babaloomunchies@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > Hello, > > We want to install Java on FreeBSD 5.3.
