Robert, can you post the ath0 section from the output of "pciconf -v"? The
original reporter, myself and the referenced GhostBSD issue all appear to h=
ave
Dell (subvendor 0x1028) Wireless 1601/1901 devices with subdevice ID 0x020d.
The card does not have any special .driver_data hints in either FreeBSD
(https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/tree/sys/dev/ath/if_ath_pci_devlist.h) or Lin=
ux
(e.g.

but the card works fine under Linux. My mostly-uneducated guess is that Fre=
eBSD
is missing a workaround or initialization step for the HAL that is present =
in
Linux that leads to the symptoms of a bogus MAC address and nonfunctional
scanning.
