I've been having a nasty problem with my xserver log file being filled up with a strange message. Once /var gets to about 80% full the system really starts slowint down and I can't hardly X. At 90% it is unusable, as far as X is concnerned. Here is a sample of the output from xdm-errors log, which has gotten up to about 85mb: XFree86 Version 4.2.1 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) Release Date: 3 September 2002 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems.
