It's the first ``may be'' standard i've seen so far. In Table 9, the `Identify device' information is described. The explanation for word 53, bit 0 is: 1 = the field reported in words 54-58 are valid 0 = the field reported in words 54-58 may be valid Also, you can find the word `obsolete' all over the place there.
