Have you tried running make clean out of some other directory other than /usr/src, in particular with a cvsup/csup'ed directory that ISN'T compatible / out of sync with a CVS directory sitting elsewhere? Someone also may have fixed the issue between when I originally posted the PR and now, or it may not have been included in the anoncvs1 sync that occurred earlier...
