They are.  We use a few here at work.  The FA310's are detected as dc0 and
ive noticed that the FA311's are detected at sis0.

device          dc              # DEC/Intel 21143 and various workalikes
device          sis             # Silicon Integrated Systems SiS 900/SiS 7016

All of our servers have Intel EtherExpress 100b's, they are very nice
NIC's but more expensive ;)
