Correction, it seems that no one took me seriously until I actually committed
this at which point a barrage of other suggestions flooded in.  *sigh*  The
most promising one seems to be use of WIP_<some unique name> options to allow
more flexibility in the future if such things are desired.  For now I'll use
this for the VM syscalls, and can change to a new name when the bikeshed has a
single color.
