Probably one of the most asked questions.

FreeBSD unfortunately doesn't have a console framebuffer (something, I
think, is sorely missed. I hate using X jsut to get 1024x768@85Hz for one
xterm).

But you can get it ip to 800x600@60Hz. man vidcontrol.
