Subject: can't get back to luigi on 4.0-current
Message-ID: <m105dlx-0008G4C@rip.psg.com>

so i had moved my sound card (awe64) from luigi to vox to try and chase the
fxtv problem the other week, until i found that the brooktree driver does
not yet support the hauppauge tuner sound stuff.

well, i need the mbone tools, and vat seems to want luigi. so i rehacked
the kernel (4.0-current as of 990126) to luigi, i think. kernel config sez

device pcm0 at isa? port ? tty irq 5 drq 1 flags 0x0 vector pcmintr

but it is not working. when i run vat or xmix, they syslog the following:

pcm0: unit not configured, perhaps you want pcm1 ?

and

    # xmix
Error opening mixer device /dev/mixer: Device not configured

maybe it is that /kernel.config is not getting run in 4.0? because it has
the
    USERCONFIG
    pnp 1 0 enable os port0 0x220 port1 0x330 port2 0x388 irq0 5 drq0 1 drq1 5
    pnp 1 1 enable os port0 0x200
    pnp 1 2 enable os port0 0x620 port1 0xa20 port2 0xe20
    quit
which i suspect needs to be run.

dmesg appended.
