I just reinstalled FreeBSD 2.1.0R after changing my hard drive configuration. I have two IDE drives on one controller. The first drive has a single MSDOS partition. The slave drive is dedicated to FreeBSD. I used the novice install. The problem is that Booteasy was not installed (at least not on the C drive) and no partition was marked as active. I tried installing with the slave drive partitioned and non-partitioned, and it made no difference. I was able to use FDISK to make the C drive the active partition, then install Booteasy from DOS. -Dave
