I had the identical symptom (hang just before printing "- found")
several times on various libs, always followed shortly by a panic,
with a kernel from 2/12. It seems to have gone away with a kernel
from 2/14. Unfortunately it was the 2/14 kernel where I finally
added DDB, so I got no reportable info. I've done a fair amount
of portupgrade-ing since, with no trouble.

I'm available by contract or FT, in the NYC metro area or via the 'Net.
