If you're looking for small size, I'd recommend the form factor or the SBC
boards, they're as small as 6"x4" and Pentium supports. Try 
http://www.emjembedded.com - that's where I do most of my shopping for
small devices. For small dc-dc converter (if you're thinking of running
your box with a battery), try visit to www.parvus.com, and look for
power-distribution 4 (or 5).
