[-- Attachment #1 --] I have a LG UP3# MP3 player and when I connect it to a FreeBSD 6.2 system, it attaches OK but hangs the bus (I/O attempts fail). Note that the player states that it is supported by Linux so it should be a fairly generic umass device. The display initially reports "MSC MODE" and that changes to "MSC BUSY" and stays that way until it is removed. How should I go about debugging this? I managed to get usbdevs to report that it is: port 5 addr 2: high speed, power 300 mA, config 1, LGUP3S_MTP(0x70b1), LG Semiconductor Co., Ltd.(0x043e), rev 1.00 Kernel messages are: Jul 22 13:59:43 turion kernel: umass0: vendor 0x043e LGUP3S, rev 2.00/1.00, addr 2 Jul 22 13:59:43 turion kernel: umass0: 8070i (ATAPI) over Bulk-Only; quirks = 0x0000 Jul 22 13:59:43 turion kernel: umass0:2:0:-1: Attached to scbus2 Jul 22 13:59:43 turion kernel: da0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 Jul 22 13:59:43 turion kernel: da0: <LG UP3S 1.00> Removable Direct Access SCSI-0 device Jul 22 13:59:43 turion kernel: da0: 40.000MB/s transfers Jul 22 13:59:43 turion kernel: da0: 1979MB (4053921 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 252C) Jul 22 13:59:43 turion kernel: usbd_transfer_cb: short transfer 0<13 Jul 22 14:09:53 turion kernel: umass0: BBB reset failed, TIMEOUT Jul 22 14:14:58 turion kernel: umass0: BBB bulk-in clear stall failed, TIMEOUT Jul 22 14:20:03 turion kernel: umass0: BBB bulk-out clear stall failed, TIMEOUT Jul 22 14:20:03 turion kernel: (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x4, scsi status == 0x0 -- Peter Jeremy [-- Attachment #2 --] -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFGo0T1/opHv/APuIcRAq8xAJ9aIFaptMTmQyl4hHKqh0Xky2RBmACguvLw EWT/DqAkxPKmNmP0jjLqzck= =BUoc -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
