You may try atacontrol(8), it allows you to create/delete/rebuild raid 
arrays on some controllers. I think it will work on your Promise.
As for the information about the individual disks, i personally use it 
for S.M.A.R.T. monitoring on each disk with 'smartmontools' from ports.
