IBM's MWave drivers aren't particularly good.

I see the MWave as a failed experiment, alas. Modems and sound cards
with built-in DSPs work best when they're sold to multiple vendors,
contain internal ROM or flash, and have a standard interface that's
documented and operating system-independent. The MWave as a modem
is basically a "Winmodem."
