Well, it's standard built on UNIX 95, which was built on XPG4, which
was built on POSIX, which was built on ANSI C and existing UNIX
practice.  Whew!

No, why should they?  UNIX 98 branding is much more interesting to
commercial UNIX vendors than to "free" UNIX vendors.
