Following is a copy of message posted onto *.freebsd.misc new group
re: Problem with tandberg 4100 scsi tape.
I have not had any suggestion which have provide a solution to my problem
and so am posting this bug report.

>IBM 350/DX4-100 32 MB Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller,
>Fujitsu HD scsi 0
>Matshita CD-ROM scsi 1
>Tandberg TDC 4100 scsi 3

Now changed to 2 following mailed suggestion!!

Following are copies of my /var/log/messages log file:
The tape error message occur for all operations on the /dev/rst0 device
ie tar, mt, dd etc
The kernel has been compiled with SCSIDEBUG option set and with 2 3COM etherlink
III cards.

The following is output from an:
mt -f /dev/rst0 status

Present Mode: Density = ECMA TC17 Blocksize variable

Mode 2: Density = 0x00 Blocksize variable
Mode 3: Density = 0x00 Blocksize variable

I hope that I am not reporting a non-existent bug, but I have tried all
suggestion and still have not managed to get the tape drive to work.
I was also unable to get the drive to work with FreeBSD 2.0.5 using an
Adaptec 1542CF on a previous 386 installation.

Thank you helping.
I am happy to do any testing etc that my be required to fix the problem.
