Hi, On Tue, 31 Aug 1999, Leonard Sitongia wrote: > computing, high-performance computing. Embedded processors > is another interesting area, worthy of work. I was looking into a port of FreeBSD to Motorola's ColdFire CPUs (MCF5206 mostly, the 5204 has a 4MB memory limit which was too small for my needs, and possibly FreeBSD also if theres no disk devices for swap). The reasons for the port was for some semi-embedded systems I was working on. In the end I decided it would be quicker to write my own OS with an emulation library for easy porting of Unix programs, the reasons behind this was mostly size and time related. There are a number of interesting processors out there designed specifically for embedded systems, and I would like to resume porting of FreeBSD to some of them. If anyone is interested in the project, please let me know! Regards, Tom. To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-platforms" in the body of the messagehome | help
