I have made some small patches to the 'id' command: ] This is a small patch that adds a "-P" option to the "id" program ] to allow it to print out the id as a password file line. ] ] This functionality is most useful in shell scripts on NIS using ] machines, since there is no simple way to get an entry from a ] shell script without caring whether it's coming from the local ] password file or from NIS.
