[-- Attachment #1 --] well, you mean on RAID5 then, coz there's probably no math in reconstructing a RAID1. Why would the math on SATA be less reliable than on SCSI??? Where d'you read that anyway?? Jeff Mohler wrote: Did you know that most "oh my god" RAID failures happen during the reconstruction of a failed drive? .Especially on SATA as the non-recoverable-bit-error math is so much easier to run into. I think..that on a 500G drive, there are enough bits to read/write that mathematically you could run into a double-drive failure every time you have to recover. Although, statistically it wouldnt happen every time. No raid solves any backup problem. I've been using those Intel RAID with Windows for a couple of years now and it really helped solve my backup problem. I think this is simply great, no worries of data loss anymore (at least coming from hardware failure). -nodje _______________________________________________ [1]freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list [2]http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to [3]"freebsd-questions-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" References 1. mailto:freebsd-questions@freebsd.org 2. http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions 3. mailto:freebsd-questions-unsubscribe@freebsd.org [-- Attachment #2 --] 0 *H 010 + 0 *H 00G YۍP!C&0 *H 0b10 UZA1%0#U Thawte Consulting (Pty) Ltd.1,0*U#Thawte Personal Freemail Issuing CA0 070329104834Z 080328104834Z0D10UThawte Freemail Member1!0 *H nodje.co@gmail.com0"0 *H 0 ~kG6}^_4Uk_M)i6Z q*L:M F]`ϋ>R%Aqڃ5r2"ho$ĘyaW̙.#Q @EDpqih՞MrssJ k1T`<^:3[>toϤlhQjɧF_lhS[=Č~ra`h"vw{Ӑ.):չ_:$ira],V /0-0U0nodje.co@gmail.com0U0 0 *H ANnV͑0ivɤ~#yۜ%ޢy.4ޛ][]wݐ<oeZ`\5~Q>.)ؒt#68cqFDPz.Q&o&00G YۍP!C&0 *H 0b10 UZA1%0#U Thawte Consulting (Pty) Ltd.1,0*U#Thawte Personal Freemail Issuing CA0 070329104834Z 080328104834Z0D10UThawte Freemail Member1!0 *H nodje.co@gmail.com0"0 *H 0 ~kG6}^_4Uk_M)i6Z q*L:M F]`ϋ>R%Aqڃ5r2"ho$ĘyaW̙.#Q @EDpqih՞MrssJ k1T`<^:3[>toϤlhQjɧF_lhS[=Č~ra`h"vw{Ӑ.):չ_:$ira],V /0-0U0nodje.co@gmail.com0U0 0 *H ANnV͑0ivɤ~#yۜ%ޢy.4ޛ][]wݐ<oeZ`\5~Q>.)ؒt#68cqFDPz.Q&o&0?0 0 *H 010 UZA10UWestern Cape10U Cape Town10U Thawte Consulting1(0&UCertification Services Division1$0"UThawte Personal Freemail CA1+0) *H personal-freemail@thawte.com0 030717000000Z 130716235959Z0b10 UZA1%0#U Thawte Consulting (Pty) Ltd.1,0*U#Thawte Personal Freemail Issuing CA00 *H 0 Ħ<UsUNʙZhup[v:aQP 0cZ,p+Z?qV˯<6$*+w=+>@dקe*TH<a@dr` 00U0 0CU<0:08642http://crl.thawte.com/ThawtePersonalFreemailCA.crl0U0)U"0 010UPrivateLabel2-1380 *H HP. fgCL!6-6/P p<ab:~ t%Pb'qW%ݩ9 Oe_N4[5MwV!x!5$F]_eO1d0`0v0b10 UZA1%0#U Thawte Consulting (Pty) Ltd.1,0*U#Thawte Personal Freemail Issuing CA YۍP!C&0 + 0 *H 1 *H 0 *H 1 071011020720Z0# *H 1@`,Hl 0R *H 1E0C0 *H 0*H 0 *H @0+0 *H (0 +71x0v0b10 UZA1%0#U Thawte Consulting (Pty) Ltd.1,0*U#Thawte Personal Freemail Issuing CA YۍP!C&0*H 1xv0b10 UZA1%0#U Thawte Consulting (Pty) Ltd.1,0*U#Thawte Personal Freemail Issuing CA YۍP!C&0 *H hǚC`3$]8]?VyňpmD`oŲ&PͿ!nSY* 9niu0L=u'~2N6E!X<:TG5bPS95dWɜ9$]\\YHscq9W1[[ Fnv=HE+ɹid"}ЋJL]txlk7vsZd1^0W&~Abhelp
