-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 - -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Dear Doc Developers, the migration to SVN and the related reorganization seem to have gone seamlessly. However, the planned doc infrastructure improvements are not finished yet. The next item on our TODO list is the long overdue XML migration. Now we have a proper VCS system that supports renames and moves in the tree so we can follow up with bigger reorganizations. (Side note: do not be afraid of the changes, authoring will not be more complicated at all.) This XML migration is quite a complex reorganization and as such, it cannot be done on the mainline of doc development so we decided to do it in a separate branch. Also, this project will be the first experiment on branching and merging back changes to head. To open projects/ for the public we have to carefully evaluate the potential scenarios of merging and choose that one that best suites our development model. We at doceng will work out a draft about using projects/ and merging changes back to head. We will post this to doc@ and once the policies and best practices are established, finally projects/ will be open for the big public. You can expect to see our draft policies in 2-3 weeks, so projects/ may be open around mid-July.
