This breaks using fmake from ports because of usage of :U in sys.mk

fmake has to be supported until 9 is EOLed otherwise this is a major pain f=

all developers, having the ability to use fmake allows people to ensure syn=

is compatible with FreeBSD 9 (not that I'm just speaking about sys.mk not o=
ther
parts)
